There are many and sometimes changing aspects of Earth Justice Ministries’ peacemaking program. We work with the local Palestine-Israel Working Group to keep abreast of developments in the region and we coordinate with them to advocate for peace and justice, to co-sponsor educational events, and to raise money for relief efforts there. We stand with Women in Black and other groups around the world calling for the United States to Close Guantanamo. We stand with Witness Against Torture and the National Religious Campaign Against Torture.
Earth Justice Ministries has supported anti-drone demonstrations at Beale Air Force Base outside Marysville, California, for several years. Beale is the home of the Global Hawk Drone, a surveillance drone that identifies targets for weaponized Predator and Reaper drones. We have organized several Ash Wednesday and Good Friday worship services followed by nonviolent direct actions at the Beale gate.
