
The City Council of Nevada City has scheduled a vote on a ceasefire for this coming Wednesday night. The meeting starts at 6:30 in the City Council chambers. There will also be a demonstration in support of both a ceasefire and an arms embargo against Israel at 4:30 at Callanan Park in Nevada City.
The ceasefire is the last agenda item:
Consideration of 1) A Report from the Consensus Building Institute (CBI) of findings associated with the beginnings of a Community Conversation on the Topic of Islamophobia, Antisemitism, and the Role of Local Government in Providing a Safe and Peaceful Community in Consideration of the On-Going Human Tragedy in Israel and Palestine; and 2) Resolution 2024-33: A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Nevada City, California Calling for a Ceasefire and an End to Violence Between Palestine and Israel Recommended Action: Receive the presentation and adopt the resolution
